These components can be assembled in automated processes and can be subjected to more stressful thermal profiles. They also have a lower degree of sensitivity to moisture absorption and can be used in a wider temperature range. Some of them allow a plastic or glass collimator/reticle to be used: this stage can be managed by Optoi or even by the end customer, since the component is always protected by a thermal shock resistant film.
